Jojoba Oil Review!

One of my favorite skin care products to use is probably facial oils. I have tried a handful of these products from different brands and I am constantly on the lookout to try more. I've tried tea tree, argan, rose hip, olive and coconut oil to just name a few. One product that I've heard quite a lot about but hadn't tried yet was jojoba oil. So, a few months ago I finally went out and bought a bottle. After the first use of this product I was amazed. It wasn't like the typical oils I had used before it. I actually bought it around the same time I bought the Mario Badescu Rose Hips Nourishing Oil (click HERE) and these two have quickly become my favorites.

So first, what makes jojoba oil so great? Well it’s actually very similar to our own skin oil that our bodies produce. It’s described as being a waxy substance but it doesn't feel waxy. To me, a waxy substance would feel somewhat sticky but this doesn't. Anyways, like most oils, this can help to trick your skin into thinking it’s getting enough oil. So even though some people who have oily skin may think applying oil will only make matters worse, it actually does the opposite and helps to balance out oil production. However, jojoba oil isn't just great for people with oily skin. It even helps the skin to retain moisture better and longer, which makes it great for those with dry skin. Jojoba oil is loaded with vitamins and minerals that are essential to keeping skin (and even hair) healthy. It also has anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties; so it can be ideal for those with acne prone skin as well. No matter what type of skin you have, this oil can be great for a lot of different people.

What I immediately noticed about jojoba oil was the fact that it doesn't leave you feeling, or looking, very greasy. It absorbs into the skin really well and quite quickly. The Mario Badescu oil is actually slightly better with absorbing and not being greasy, but the jojoba oil is a close second. A little can go a long way so you don’t need very much. This oil truly made my skin feel hydrated and nourished ALL DAY! After a few days of consistent use my skin looked soft, smooth, clear and all around HEALTHY. Even though it helps to keep my skin clear I can’t say it’s a complete miracle worker. I do still get breakouts once in a while, but I do notice that this helps my skin to heal a bit faster. It’s also very gentle and didn’t irritate my skin at all. Jojoba oil doesn't have a very strong smell at all but I don’t feel it’s completely “odorless.” It’s just very faint so I don’t think it will bother anyone.

Bottom line: everyone needs to have a bottle of this included in their skin care regimen. I don’t think it matters who you are, what your skin type is or what age you are…..this can really work for anyone.

If you haven’t tried jojoba oil out yet then you definitely should. It’s a great multi-tasking product and it’s not expensive which is great. The bottle I purchased cost me less than ten dollars. Hope you found this helpful and I would love to know if you have tried jojoba oil and what your thoughts are!
