L.A. Girl Pro Conceal Review!

My reason for purchasing this product was because I thought it might be a dupe to the MAC Pro Longwear Concealer. The MAC concealer has become my number one concealer because it offers great coverage with minimal amount of product. Even though I believe it’s worth every penny, I would still like to save some money if possible. Therefore, when I heard that the LA Girl Pro Concealer might be a cheaper alternative, I just had to try it out for myself. The LA Girl concealer is about two dollars which is much cheaper than the twenty dollars it cost to purchase the MAC concealer. If you want to know how this cheaper concealer compared and if it’s even worth purchasing then keep on reading…

This product comes in a tube with a brush applicator. You squeeze the tube to get the product to come out. Personally, I’m not a fan of the packaging. When the product comes out it just comes out in a blob at the base of the applicator. It’s still easy to apply, and the brush helps to spread it out so it’s not a huge issue, but I still prefer other packaging more than this packaging. The actual product itself is really nice. It has a thin consistency and feels very lightweight so it doesn’t crease badly at all. It blends out really easily and I find that it lasts all day. I always set my concealer with a powder so if you don’t then it might crease more and fade faster. This concealer also provides light to medium coverage. I’m a bit disappointed with the color selection though. I couldn’t find good swatches online so I just went ahead and purchased the lightest shade which is Classic Ivory. I was afraid it might be too light but it’s actually darker than I expected. I use NW20 in the MAC Pro Longwear and this concealer is one to two shades darker. Therefore, if you have very fair skin then I’m not sure if this concealer will work for you.

In comparison to the MAC Pro Longwear Concealer, the LA Girl Pro Conceal doesn’t come close. As I said, this concealer is light to medium coverage where the MAC concealer is medium to full coverage. Depending on your needs that can be a pro or a con and for me personally, it’s a con. I prefer the coverage of the MAC concealer, especially for my dark circles. The MAC concealer not only helps to cover but also brighten and the LA Girl concealer just wasn’t as good. Even though this wasn’t what I was hoping for in regards to a fuller coverage, I still thought it might work as a corrector. Not only was this color darker than my MAC concealer but it also has a peachy tone which can help to neutralize the undertones in my dark circles. I normally use the MAC Prep & Prime Highlighter in Bright Forecast. This product is also a bit pricey so I thought if I could replace it then that would still help me save money. The LA Girl concealer did a pretty good job and helped but, sadly, not quite as well as the MAC highlighter. The highlighter is a few shades darker and has a more orange tone to it which actually does a better job to neutralize the tones of my dark circles.

Overall, the LA Girl Pro Conceal is a really nice concealer, especially for the price. It just wasn’t what I was expecting and didn’t quite suit my needs. I would not recommend it as being a dupe for the MAC concealer, but as a concealer in general, it really depends on your preferences. If you are looking for a lightweight concealer with decent coverage then this may be a great choice as long as the color matches you. Since the price is extremely reasonable it’s definitely worth checking out. I actually do like this concealer for days that I only need/want a very light and natural looking coverage. If you have any recommendations for new concealers to try I would love to know! Thanks for reading and hope this review helped you out!
