As I mentioned last week, in last month’s Ipsy Glam Bag I received two sheet masks, one for pore care and the other for brightening. Last week I reviewed the pore care mask, click HERE, and today I’m reviewing the brightening mask. Apparently, “this is the perfect mask for brightening uneven skin tone. Formulated with lily extracts and niacinamide, this mask nixes pigmentation and brightens your overall complexion, improving skin clarity. After using, your skin will feel instantly nourished with noticeably brighter, softer, and smoother results.” This definitely sounded right up my alley so I was excited to give it try. Keep on reading to find out my results…
As with the other sheet mask, this one was quite thin and wasn’t the best fitting but wasn’t the worst. The consistency for this sheet mask was a little thicker/ milkier and was white instead of clear. This one did have a nicer smell to it but once it was on you couldn’t really smell it anymore. It also was well saturated and actually had enough serum inside for me to use this mask three times. I just squeeze out any excess into the bag but still make sure the sheet itself is still wet, just not dripping. After each use I fold it back up and place it in the bag to absorb the serum and seal it.
This serum absorbed well into my skin but it did leave my skin slightly tacky until it fully absorbed. Just like the last mask, this one left my skin feeling smooth and soft. I also felt that this one nourished my skin more so than just hydrated. It seemed to sink in more deeply and nourish my skin rather than just hydrate the top layer, which I love. I did notice that my skin looked a bit more glow-y afterwards and had a nice radiance but I didn’t notice any difference in my skin tone. It might have helped reduce some redness but it was very little.
Overall another really nice mask with an affordable price point. For the most part this mask did as it claims. My skin was definitely more nourished as well as smoother and softer. I even noticed that my skin looked more radiant. However, I didn’t notice any difference in my skin tone because I still had some redness like I normally do. This mask is still nice and I would still recommend checking it out but to be quite honest, I’ve used other affordable masks that provide the same results plus help reduce my redness. Perhaps it just wasn’t enough for me but if you really don’t have redness and just want a mask for radiance and nourishment, then this mask will definitely work for you.
