Maybelline Master Conceal Camouflaging Concealer

A little while ago I ran out of my concealer that I’d been using for a while (Maybelline Fit me) so I went to the store to pick another one up. However, the store was completely out of my color and so, instead of going to another store, I decided to look around and see if there was something else to try. I quickly spotted this concealer and decided to go ahead and purchase it. This concealer claims to be “full-coverage and high-resistance” and “camouflages imperfections and dark circles.” Sounded exactly what I was looking for…

Firstly, I’m not a fan of the packaging. This product has a tube packaging and you have to squeeze the concealer out. I prefer a packaging that has a wand with a doe-foot applicator. I just find it much easier to apply and to get the right amount. With this packaging sometimes I squeeze out too much or too little which is a little annoying. It’s not the worst application, having to squeeze it out, but I just find using a wand much easier and prefer it over this. As far as the color goes, I purchase the color “Light” which has a yellow undertone. I find that the color of the concealer actually matches the color of the packaging pretty closely. Not sure if it’s true for the other colors but for the color “Light” it is.

This concealer has a thin to medium consistency and blends out pretty easily. I use this under my eyes as well as to cover acne spots. It does a pretty good job at covering my dark circles, though I do also use a correcting concealer before to counteract the blue/purple tone. I think if I had purchased the shade “Fair” I might like it a little better to add some more brightness to my under eye. This shade in “Light” is the actual color of my foundation so it doesn’t add that brightness that I like. It doesn’t crease too badly though which is really nice. In terms of coverage I would say it’s a medium coverage concealer. Some acne spots, the lighter ones, it covers well but the darker acne spots it barely covers them at all.

Overall I found this to be a decent concealer. This is supposed to be a full coverage concealer but it barely covers acne spots. I actually think the Maybelline Fit Me concealer has better coverage than what this concealer has. I know this has a lot of great reviews and ratings but it just wasn’t what I was hoping for. This concealer is even a few dollars more than the Fit Me concealer so I was expecting a bit more from it but it just didn’t work for me. I personally wouldn’t recommend this since I found it quite underwhelming, though again, I know it has a lot of good reviews. I am definitely going to be purchasing the Fit Me concealer again and would recommend that one over this one.
