Review: OLEHENRIKSEN Banana Bright Eye Crème and HERBIVORE Rose Hibiscus Face Mist

A little while ago I made a purchase from Sephora online and was able to receive a few samples. The two products I received were an eye cream and a face mist. The eye cream was the OLEHENRIKSEN Banana Bright Eye Crème and the face mist was the HERBIVORE Rose Hibiscus Coconut Water Hydrating Face Mist. I hadn’t tried either before so I was excited to try them out and see if they were any good or not. I was especially excited about the eye cream because I have pretty dark under eye circles and was curious if it would truly help to brighten that area up. To find out how well these products worked just keep on reading…

OLEHENRIKSEN Banana Bright Eye Crème

This product is “a brightening, vitamin C-rich eye crème that targets signs of aging, reducing the look of dark circles while improving concealer application and wear.” This eye cream has a nice consistency that isn’t too thick or too thin. It absorbs quickly into the skin leaving the eye area soft and smooth. It’s very hydrating and I do find that concealer goes on very well on top. This does have a light yellow tint to it which is meant to help brighten the under eye area. However, this does nothing for my dark circles and I have not noticed any sort of “brightening” affect. There was a few times after applying this eye cream that my eyes would sting slightly. It was always for a few seconds but like I stated, it only happened a few times.

HERBIVORE Rose Hibiscus Coconut Water Hydrating Face Mist

This product is “an all-natural face mist with coconut water, hibiscus, and rose to instantly revitalize the skin.” It’s supposed to help with dryness, uneven skin tone and pores. This face mist has a nice, light flower scent to it and feels quite refreshing which I really like. I do feel that this helped to hydrate my skin and make it feel soft. It absorbs well into the skin and fairly quickly without feeling tacky. I do notice that it helped to reduce my redness slightly. I don’t like using face mists as a setting spray but rather as a sort of primer or to refresh my skin throughout the day when I’m not wearing makeup. This does a great job at prepping the skin and refreshing it.

Overall these products were quite nice. The eye cream was definitely hydrating and made my skin soft which I liked. However, I didn’t notice it brightening my eye area which was a bit disappointing. For the costs I probably wouldn’t purchase the full size because I feel I’ve used other eye creams that were just as hydrating for a little cheaper. The face mist was nice and I wouldn’t mind purchasing the full size at some point. It did a nice job at hydrating and nourishing my skin when it needed a little extra “pick-me-up.” If you’ve tried these products or ones similar I would love to hear your thoughts. I’m still looking for a good eye cream so if you have any suggestions please let me know.
